miu on my mind

I wonder why i'm writing a post at 00.30.well, never mind.
The last few days i have been spending my evenings on sketching clothes.
Btw, I also 'made' a dress which would go perfect to these (very mouthwatering) miu miu shoes!
These are not the ones, but similar and beautiful too. The real ones are right here (photo no 4).

To make this oh-so-very long story a bit shorter, I want to become a fashion designer one day.
I can't sew, which is not so good. sooo i'm now signed up for a course at FASHION DESIGN AKADEMIET in Copenhagen, which in august (hopefully) will teach me how to sew and design.
You can sign up for all kinds of fashion design related courses here.

A HUGE problem...not

Which clothes should I go for, when I somehow just know, that it’s going to be wrapped in dirt before the day is over? The answer is not as simple as it seems, as I want both to think in an economic -, and in a fashionable perspective. Should I be 'neutral' and choose cut Levi’s , an oversize shirt and dr. Martens or Hunters, it would be practical and cheap but a bit boring also, I think. Should I instead be searching for something a bit more original?

Is it also bothering you? Are you also in doubt about what to wear, at whatever festival you’re may be going to this summer? – Don’t worry, you’re not alone out there, trust me I know the feeling! This year I’m going to Roskilde Festival, and it seems like everyone is going for grunge. I want it to be practical and laid id back. Maybe something in army style or something hobo-chic, hmmm. Still working on my ideas. Anyway, let you know my conclusions someday soon…

If you are reading this blog, stop now, it´s full of shit. We have no experience and no taste. We are only two young teenage girls from Iceland and Denmark hoping that one day we will be part of a world that we dream of every night. The Fashion Industry. And we are not the only ones who do so. Millions our age would do anything to have those 15 minutes of fame in that world which feels so far away. Some are born with a natural talent and others have taught themselves, but what they have in common is their passion for fashion.

My father once asked me why fashion meant so much to me. I must say, it is a very hard question to answer. But I do remember that knot in my stomach of excitement when I bought my first designer item at the age of 13. The fact that I owned an item of clothing designed by someone so talented and sewn so carefully by hand, that just gave me a rush of excitement. So I know that I am very passionate about fashion, so passionate I cant find the words.

Marie and I gave our blog the name, The Open Closet. For one, we have very open personalities and we would like to share with the world our interests in fashion and even our closet.

You may be confused by the beginning of this post, but I hope it kept you reading and wondering what would happen next. And that is exactly what Marie and I plan to do, keep our readers curious and happy.
